Happy Sunday everyone! For the last month or so I’ve been trying out a new cleanser. That’s right, I’ve put down my Frank Body Creamy Face Cleanser and picked up an entirely new skincare product! Pixi have a reputation for amazing skincare products, and you’ll already know that I’m a huge fan of the coveted Glow Tonic, so I bought myself the Nourishing Cleansing Balm with very, very high expectations.
The first thing I’ve noticed is that it is the most amazing makeup remover. It’s safe for use on your eyes, and does a brilliant job of just melting every scrap of war paint right off. I think because it comes as an almost solid balm and then melts into an oil type cleanser, it just cuts through all the stuff you want to take off and leaves you with really soft, moisturised feeling skin.
More recently though I haven’t been using this cleanser to remove my makeup as I got a lash tint and lift and didn’t want to ruin the effectiveness of the lash perm with the oiliness of the cleanser. As a second cleanse product though I still get all that lovely softness to my skin, and it just feels like I’m doing my skin serious good.
The main thing I’ve noticed with this cleanser, and one of the big reasons I love it so much, is that it hasn’t caused my skin to break out! In fact, if anything, my skin has calmed down even more since using this product. The Frank cleanser I’ve been using is amazing, and definitely helped my breakouts, but I feel like the Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm has just pushed my skin over that line into being really calm and more predictable.
My skin tone has definitely improved, my breakouts are a lot smaller and more discreet, and it looks as though this cleanser is helping with the hormonal redness and pigmentation I get during certain points in the month. Now I’ve been using it for about a month, I feel pretty confident in saying that it’s definitely taking my skin in the right direction and I honestly couldn’t be happier about it!
It’s also been a real treat discovering this cleanser in the way you use it. You apply a small amount to dry skin and massage it in (I do so for about a minute) and then remove it with a face cloth. It really feels like you’re working it right into those problem areas and using a face cloth to rinse makes me feel as though I’m really cleaning my skin without having to use any super harsh products. With it being a dry skin application and a face cloth rinse, it’s also really useful for when you’re away from home and on the go as it only requires a small amount of water.
I’m delighted I tried this cleanser. It really feels like a product that will get my skin through the summer and keep it looking really healthy and bright. I think for £18 this product is excellent value as it’s been about a month now since I started using it and I still have plenty left. The major downside of the Frank cleanser is that it’s almost the same price but only lasts me a month exactly. I reckon I’ll get two whole months out of this cleanser as I’m currently using it, which is amazing value.
Verdict: good value, great packaging, lovely formula, and works really, really well for me. This cleanser is a really lovely all-round product and I’ll definitely be re-purchasing when I need to! Now I’ve started a new skincare regime, I’m going to be adding new products to it one at a time and see how I like them, so I’m really thrilled this first skincare adventure has worked out so well! 10/10, just amazing.
