Happy Sunday lovely people. Today, in light of the fact that I turn 26 on Wednesday, I’m focussing on skincare based makeup that helps combat ageing (because that’s going to start happening to me now).

You’ll already know that I’ve been a superfan of SPF 50 for most of my life. You can’t be as pale as I am without having to protect yourself from the sun after all! And I’m delighted to say I’ve finally found the perfect SPF makeup that also makes my skin look amazing, plus it works great as a priming layer before a heavier foundation, so it’s a strong all-rounder this one!

Beautylish stock such a great range of brands and products that I spent a good hour or so on their site before settling on the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50. My mum’s used it before and I knew from her having it that it matched my skintone perfectly, so I bought one for myself – mostly because she gets annoyed when I steal hers and don’t return it for days on end.

Obviously, this CC+ cream is very light coverage compared to what I usually use, but I will say that it gives a lovely dewy finish, and it’s really buildable which is great. I can get a really nice medium coverage with this product that works beautifully for no makeup days or ‘no makeup’ makeup.

Added points to IT Cosmetics for being paraben and cruelty free which is fast becoming one of the most important things to me when looking for new makeup. I’m trying really hard to get away from brands that use harsh chemicals or animal testing. I also really like the ethos of IT Cosmetics tag line for this product. ‘Your Skin But Better’ is pretty much how I feel about makeup in general – it’s just a better version of yourself.

Here’s a little before and after (fast becoming my favourite way to showcase what a product can do). I’m wearing just the one layer in the middle image and 2 layers in the other. I wanted to show how buildable it really is. I get pretty good coverage, especially over my breakouts.

The crowning glory of this product for me is that it has such a high SPF in it. Even living in Scotland I struggle during the summer months to protect my skin and still be wearing makeup. This is not only high enough SPF for me, but is also lightweight enough that it’ll still be comfortable during those rare but incredibly warm days we get up here!

Verdict: 10/10 as a summer staple, but really I’ll be using it all year round as a primer or for days where I don’t need or want to wear as much makeup. In my opinion, it’s worth the £30 price tag, more so because you only need a small amount anyway. I’ll definitely be trying more IT Cosmetics products in the future!
