This winter look is super easy and without the lashes would be really nice and soft for everyday wear. It’s been getting such good feedback on my Instagram that I thought I’d post a wee breakdown of how I created it. Hope you enjoy 🙂
As usual, I started with my base with the amazing MAC Matchmaster Foundation in shade 1.0, contour in MAC Carbon eyeshadow, and blush in MAC Fig 1 eyeshadow. I highlighted and concealed with Collection’s Lasting Perfection concealer in shade ‘Fair’ and filled in my brows with Carbon again. I set my face with MAC’s Prep+Prime powder to make sure everything was nice and smooth and matte.
I primed my eyelids with concealer and then set it with a sheer nude eyeshadow. All my colours are from that nameless palette, that I can’t find online for the life of me, but Urban Decay’s Naked 3 would be perfect for this look.
Working from the outer corner, I blended the darkest brown very softly into the crease and down the outer edge of my lid, creating a really light ‘V’ shape, and then with my MAC 217 brush, blended this out further to really blur the edges. Using the same dark brown shade, I lined my lower lashes and blended it out again, reinforcing the line on the outer corner only. Once I’d built up enough definition on the outer corner of my lid, it was time to line my lashes.
Again, I went back to a trusted favourite for my liner and used Rimmel’s Gel liner for the wing, but to keep it a bit softer, I blended the tiniest amount of black shadow over the tip of the wing. Line the water line and inner corner of the eye with white liner to make your eyes look HUGE!
To finish the look, I added lashes and a slick of Rimmel’s Provocalips 16hr lip colour in shade ‘Skinny Dipping’ (best name for a lip colour ever) and then donned my new wig! Incidentally, my wig is a black to brown ombre that a friend gave me from Geisha Wigs ex-stock. Geisha Wigs is no longer going, but Lush Wigs do beautiful wigs and have one very similar. The friend that gave me the wig cut a full fringe into it for me because I’m always complaining that I would love to have a full fringe again but it never looks right with such thick hair!
So there we have it – my Winter Warmer look consisting entirely of nude shades and lashes.
Anyone less interested in the makeup I play with and more interested in my actual life, check back next week for a post about my amazing birthday trip to Ireland with Chef! I’ve been so busy with weddings and birthdays and editing photos that I haven’t had a chance to sit and write my post yet, but I’m working on it 🙂
